Very Merry Berry Smoothie Bowl


 

2016 Kids Recipe Challenge Winning Recipe: 3rd Place!  [Breakfast]

Kasey in Toronto describes this recipe as a “breakfast art project!” You can make patterns and then stir them together before eating. It’s fun breakfast food!

Kids can help pour the ingredients into the blender and then decorate the bowl with their favourite ingredients.

Serves: 3 - 1 cup (250 mL) Servings

Ingredients

Frozen banana, sliced

Fresh or frozen blueberries, raspberries or strawberries

1 cup (250 mL) 

Plain 0% fat Greek yogurt 

1 cup (250 mL) 

Milk or milk alternative

1 cup (250 mL) 

Granola

2 Tbsp

Chia seeds

2 tsp (10 mL) 

Slivered or chopped almonds

2 tsp (10 mL) 

Unsweetened shredded coconut

2 tsp (10 mL)

Diced watermelon, fresh or frozen berries or other fruit

1 cup (250 mL)

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, combine granola, chia seeds, almonds and coconut; set aside.
  2. In a blender combine banana, berries, yogurt and milk. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. Divide among 3 bowls. Sprinkle with granola mixture. Top with watermelon and serve.
