Pizza is fun for dinner and even more fun as a snack. It doesn’t take long to make and you can add your favourite toppings to make it different every time. Minha, from Markham, thinks kids will like this recipe because it is delicious, easy to make and takes only a few minutes to bake.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes

Cooking Time: 5 minutes

Makes: 2 pizzas

Tips

  1. Try using other vegetables for eyes such as small grape tomatoes, carrot or zucchini slices. You can add the eyes after its done cooking and use cucumber slices or a fresh crunch.

Ingredients

Whole wheat English muffin

1

Sodium-reduced pasta or pizza sauce

2 Tbsp (30 mL)

Grated part skim mozzarella cheese

¼ cup (60 mL)

Small green pitted olives, cut in half

Red bell pepper, sliced

1/2

Grated carrots

¼ cup (60 mL)

Directions

  1. Split English muffin in half and place on small baking pan. Spread each with sauce. 
  2. Sprinkle each with cheese and place 2 olive halves on each muffin for eyes. Use 1 red pepper slice on each for a mouth.
  3. Place in 350 ºF (180 ºC) toaster oven or oven for about 5 minutes or until cheese is melted and English muffin is crispy.
  4. Place each on a plate and sprinkle top with carrots for hair and serve each with remaining red peppers.
