Canadiana Yogurt


Kids Recipe Challenge winning recipe – 3rd  place

Category: After school snacks, grades 4-6

Eric, in Chesterville, likes this recipe because it’s fun and easy to make. He enjoys dipping apples into his yogurt, but you could also stir in blueberries or other chopped fruit. This is an easy way to jazz up plain yogurt.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes

Serving Size: 175 mL (3/4 cup)

Makes: 1 serving


Plain low fat yogurt 175 mL 3/4 cup
Crushed pecans 15 mL 1 tbsp
Canadian maple syrup 15 mL 1 tbsp
Cinnamon 1 mL 1/4 tsp
1 apple, cored and cut into wedges

  1. In a bowl, stir together yogurt, pecans, maple syrup and cinnamon.
  2. Serve with apple wedges to dip into.
